Pop-up countertop outlets are a type of outlet that operate using a retractable mechanism. They are tucked away neatly in a counter when not in use, and conveniently accessible when required. They are typically installed into a kitchen countertop, worktop or desk and are activated by pressing the top.
There are many decisions to make when building or renovating your home or office – wall and carpet colours, tile designs, tap styles etc. It can be very time-consuming. Many people won’t even give a second thought to their electrical installations. They assume there is nothing aside from the standard white plastic wall outlet. Nothing could be further from the truth.
At Modern Power Solutions (MPSolutions), we are revolutionizing the way people access power in their homes and offices. Through the use of innovative pop up counter outlets, whether its kitchen appliances or mobile devices, power & charging has never been better.
I recently completed a full kitchen remodel and installed two 65W USB-C Point Pod Connect units in silver on our main island, positioned on either side of the sink. They have completely elevated the look and functionality of our new kitchen.
Design/Aesthetics:
The seamless integration into our quartz countertop is incredible. When retracted, the inner piece on top matches the rest of the island perfectly, leaving only a subtle, clean silver ring as the visual indicator. Guests are impressed by the "hidden" look and love watching the motorized mechanism pop up with a simple tap. It's superior to manual pop-up alternatives.
Performance:
The motor operates smoothly and relatively quietly to fully raise and lower the cylinders. While there is a tiny bit of wiggle when plugging things into the raised unit, it still feels solid and well-supported in the mounting flange. We've used them for everything from running a mixer and powering a laptop to fast-charging phones using the 65W USB-C ports.
Customer Service:
One of my units had a minor defect out of the box — the internal socket flexed inward when plugging in appliances, rather than staying rigid. I contacted customer support via email and they responded right away. They promptly shipped a new replacement unit at zero cost to me and provided a pre-paid return for the defective one. The replacement arrived in just a few days and works perfectly.
Verdict:
Exceptional product quality with customer service to match. If you're building or renovating a kitchen and want high-speed charging and power without cluttering your countertops, I highly recommend the Point Pod Connect.
We couldn't mount a power point on our kitchen splash back due to proximity. In the end we got the Point Pod and had it set into our stone bench top near by. The product works really well, is hardly noticeable at all with the stone insert in the top, and our splash back is now clean and clear and looks way better than having an ugly power point on it. Our model has the electric lift which is a bit of fun, but it also works really well.
Installed 2 devices, a little tricky to get the flange perfect but not too bad at all, a little pricier than conventional pop up BUT way worth it, seamless and works well…..also multiple cord cables for phones - if you’re looking for a pop up, this devisxw should get on your short list
With the building code changes in 2023, I looked at a better option. I found the motorized pop up. It operates smoothly and looks great in our new kitchen.
These Pop Up outlets are the best. They are so sleek and we love that the countertop can be flush. We build a lot in Idaho and most of our clients' countertops flow into their windows with no wall space but code now requires outlets every so many feet in the countertop so this allows to not distract from the natural beauty of the stone we use but still allow our clients to have outlets.
Well priced. Easy ordering and arrived very quickly.
We recently had a new kitchen installed and were keen to keep the sleek, modern look without messy wires cluttering the worktops. The V3C Black Motorised Pop Up Socket turned out to be the perfect solution. It blends seamlessly with our black quartz worktops and adds a touch of class to the overall design.
The motorised function is smooth and reliable, and the unit itself feels well-made and durable. When not in use, it stays completely hidden—exactly what we were looking for. It’s both practical and stylish.
Highly recommend this product to anyone looking to maintain clean lines and a modern aesthetic in their kitchen.
Good quality product, clean design compared to a lot of the others that you see online. Pure white top until you activate it which is good.
We received our pop up power point on the day that it was stated. It was easy to fit and worked straight away. I would recommend this company to deal with.

5 years ago we had a kitchen install and had a MP Solutions motorised pop up power socket installed in a Island. Model V3CS. It is used daily by all 3 family members and we cant cope without it. After much use, it broke in a couple of places. I reached out to the company and dealt with Seb Aroney. He replied immediately and offered me so many solution options, i was thrilled. Brilliant service and I so appreciate his manner, his advice and service solutions. Thank you Seb. Looking forward to receiving our upgrade! We will be a customer for life with this level of service!

I am in the process of completing an addition and renovation to my historic 1924 Bungalow. The first pop-ups I ordered for my island We’re not compatible with my new cabinetry and I needed to re-order. Modern Power Solutions provided exceptional customer service that was extremely supportive to my needs. The pop-ups that were installed in my island are actually beautiful and functional with electrical outlets as well as a wireless phone charger. I would never hesitate to recommend Modern Power Solutions both for their extremely supportive customer service as well as the high quality products they have engineered for sale.

I purchased two pop up plug sockets from MPS when I had my kitchen done and that was over two years ago. One of them went faulty within the warranty and without hassle they replaced it, the same one stopped working for me again out of warranty and I reached out to them again. After some courteous communications they sent me another replacement and that was very decent of them. I can confirm that they are an extremely easy, customer focussed and very respectful team / business. I will for certain return to them to purchase again if the need arises. Thank you so much for your services and the promptly delivery.

Modern Power Solutions pop up outlets are super functional. You can charge on the pad or multiple ways to plug in and get power via the pop up. I had an issue with charging pads after one year and with my receipt Modern Power swapped them out free of charge. Great experience.

Dealing with Modern Power Solutions has been a pleasure - This has been the best 'Warranty' claim experience I have had with any company. Had an issue with a pop-up power pt - Problem was determined via a video then a new unit was sent out straight away - whole issue was resolved in 4-5 days. Wish other companies were as good as this to deal with.
