The V1BC Pop-Up Power Point is a compact, retractable unit with two electrical outlets, one USB-A charging port, and two USB-C charging ports. This port configuration was updated in 2025 and now supports up to 30W power output via USB-C, making it suitable for charging laptops and fast-charging compatible mobile phones. Please note that the product image has not yet been updated to reflect the new USB module. It still displays 2x USB-A and 1x USB-C, whereas the updated version features 1x USB-A and 2x USB-C.

Introduced in 2013 as Modern Power Solutions’ first model, the V1 range has undergone refinements while remaining one of the company’s top-selling designs. Its affordable price, durable construction, and simple retraction mechanism make it a customer favourite. Opening the Pop-Up Power Outlet is easy—just grip the center handle through the opening and pull to raise. This manually operated unit slides smoothly on its aluminum body and locks securely in both the up and down positions. Its versatile design allows for installation in any direction, including sideways or upside-down from a top cabinet.

The V1BC comes with a 1.8m cable and plug, making installation straightforward and plug-and-play. The USB transformer is fully integrated, ensuring a clean and efficient setup.

Product Description

The V1 range is a compact and sturdy manual-lift retractable power socket device featuring USB charging and an 90mm (+/- 6mm) installation hole size.

Installation

Step 1: Bench-top hole: drill a hole in your bench-top, with the diameter according to the product specifications.
Step 2: Unscrew the locking ring around the body of the unit, and remove it altogether.
Step 3: Place the unit inside the hole in your bench-top.
Step 4: Screw back the locking ring around the body of the unit – from the under-side of the bench-top, and tighten it securely.
Step 5: Connect the unit to power by plugging it into a power outlet under the bench-top.

Q. Is this model spring-loaded? Does it automatically come up?
A. No, you are required to pull the unit up manually out of the surface to allow it to ‘pop up’ and be ready for use. Please check other models for automatic raising functionality.

Q. What happens if I have an issue with my product after the warranty period?
A. We’ve designed and tested these units for use over many years withstanding in a normal environment. If your product does develop an issue outside of the warranty period, we do provide an affordable repair or replacement service.

Q. Do you provide an after sales-service, and how do I contact you?
A. Yes, we provide an after-sales service. You can contact us via phone – through our ‘request a call back’ feature, where you give us your name and phone number, and we ring you back as soon as possible.

Q. Do I need a licensed electrician to install this product?
A. No, no electrical work is needed to install this product. We have designed the unit with a standard AU plug, allowing you to plug the unit into any other power socket – below your installation surface.

Q. What is the process in making a warranty claim if I have an issue with my product?
A. If your product malfunctions within the warranty period, we will repair or replace it free of charge. We keep digital records matched with product serial numbers for every order, so you do not need to worry about keeping your receipt.

A great solution to ugly power boards, working perfectly and this model was great value for money

V1BC: Pop Up Power Outlet Black

So glad that we discovered this power outlet. My husband was able to cut a circle out of my kitchen workbench exactly where I wanted the power outlet to be. The power cord supplied easily reached the existing socket under my gas hob, and as it just needed plugged in we did not require an electrician. The ability to also charge my phone from this device has made it a great buy. I highly recommend this product.
