The fully closed lid has a rubber sealing gasket that helps resist incidental surface spills. No IP rating is published; the unit is not waterproof.
Installation planning
80–85mm opening
An 80mm opening is recommended; 80–85mm is the supported range. Trial-fit before permanent cutting.
280mm below-surface space
Allow 280mm below the top surface for the unit, with additional room for the lead and plug.
Fitted AU plug
Supplied with a 1.8m lead and fitted AU plug for connection below the benchtop.
Important: The closed lid includes a sealing gasket, but no IP rating is published and the product is not waterproof. Keep the unit and all connections dry, especially when raised, and do not exceed 10A / 2,400W total.

Is the V5WUB waterproof?
No. When fully closed, the lid’s rubber gasket helps resist incidental surface spills. It is not waterproof and has no published IP rating. Keep it dry, wipe up liquid promptly, and do not open or use it while wet.
What opening is required?
An 80mm opening is recommended; 80–85mm is the supported range. Trial-fit before permanent cutting.
Does it need hardwiring?
No hardwiring is required for normal installation because the unit has a fitted AU plug. Use a licensed electrician for any electrical alteration.
