Once the track and parts are ordered, the track must be housed, there are 3 housing options available:
What is needed to complete one installation of Mainline®?
Mainline® is an electrical power track system, so it must be installed by a licensed electrician, following the instructions in the Mainline® installation manual, which can be downloaded from our website.
Firstly you will need the Mainline® track. These come in 2m lengths which can be cut easily to size using a drop saw. A terminal block and end cap will then be required. The terminal block is used to connect to the power. We supply both right and left options for the terminal block, so you can choose which side of the Mainline® track you would like to connect to power. The end cap can go to the left or right and covers the non-connected end of the track, so that live parts can’t be accessed.
Secondly, the Mainline® track requires a housing to be safely secured. There are 3 options available which give 3 different looks. The PVC surface mount and Aluminium C-Channel housings are the easiest to install. These are screw fixed to a wall. The rear section of the track is then screwed into the housing and the front of the track is then pushed into it, snapping into place. The PVS surface mount has a smooth white finish, whilst the Aluminium C-Channel has a nice brushed aluminium finish. The Aluminium flush mounting option is the best looking, but most difficult to install, a groove in the surface will have to be cut out for the housing to fit in the wall. Once the track is fixed into the flush mount housing, as the name suggests it fits flush into the surface.
Thirdly, you can use the corner kits and couplers to extend the mainline track as far as you like. The internal corner kits are for when you install run around a normal internal corner, whereas the external corners allow you to go around the edge of an alcove.
Lastly, the socket adaptor modules will be required to give power to your appliances. They can simply be pushed into place anywhere along the track and rotated 90 degrees to connect to power. You can add, remove and reposition these as you wish. The amount of power each appliance draws will limit the amount of appliances you can have plugged onto the track.
